5/28/18 Caring Bridge

Journal entry by Joanne Negstad — May 28, 2018
Some years ago there were some atrocious, dispensationalist books about being left behind in the rapture.  They were bad theology and terrible hermeneutics.  My blog title has nothing to do with these books...if you have them burn them.
Memorial Day in Sinai, S.D., is always marked with a program sponsored by the local American Legion.  After a program an honor guard goes to the two local cemeteries where they fire a salute and play Taps to honor the war dead.  Stationed by Joanne's grave I witnessed the honor guards performance.
While I was in the Marine Corps, Taps was played every night at lights out..sort of a bedtime lullaby.  Today, Taps had a whole new meaning.  Then, the ceremony was over, and everyone went back for lunch together...and so did I.  Once again I left Joanne behind...excruciating absence.
Blessings,

Al

PS  These posts are therapeutic for me, and not least of all, because of the comments and responses  which remind me that I am NOT alone.  In addition to the responses on C.B., today I had an email from one of my Luther Leaguers from my first congregation and a postcard from a friend vacationing in the U.K., and they are both following C.B.  I am so blessed!
