Some more thoughts about the seditious attack on the U.S. Capitol

Lies have consequences. trump has consistently lied about the results of the national election, claiming that Biden was fraudulently elected. After the MAGA riot at the Capitol a national survey was taken of Republican party member's response. Approximately 50%  approved of the terrorist attack. It's apparent that many people believe trump's lies about the election. Believing these lies then allows them to approve of an attempted coup.

I've been reading a new biography of Hitler.  (How's that for a little light reading?)  Joseph Goebbels, Hitler's propaganda minister, held that lies told often enough become considered true. trump has employed that tactic regarding the presidential election. Just keep repeating that the election was rigged and...we see what happens. Goebbels maintained that the bigger the lie, and the more it was repeated, the more likely it was to be believed. Does trump believe it? That doesn't matter, the result is the same.

That's the view from The Little House on the Prairie and I'm sticking with it!

Takk for alt,

Al
