4/9/2019 Caring Bridge

Journal entry by Al Negstad — a minute ago
Polar opposites, we were in so many respects.  "A Luncheon, why yes, of course I'd love to go."  Can't you just hear her?  The cause?  Well yes, that may be worthwhile but there will be crowd of people there so why wouldn't she want to go.
Then there was my usual response, "I'm happy to give money just don't ask me to attend anything."  We'd worked it out quite well, Joanne would go and I'd write a check.  She'd return and fill me in on all the wonderful conversations she had.
Now fast forward a bit, Joanne dies and I'm living in the land of grief.  A luncheon/gala you name it is scheduled and I'm invited.  The invitation goes like this "I hope you will come because Joanne will be honored."  So now what?  Stay away and fail to honor Joanne?  Do you hear her laughing?  "Ha ha, Al, gotcha didn't I?"
So it goes in this new land in which I live.

Blessings,

Al
