7/5/2019 Caring Bridge

Journal entry by Al Negstad — a minute ago
It was one of those mornings that makes one think of finding gopher wood and figuring out the length of a cubit.  The Brookings Children's Museum came to the rescue with two floors of 'hands on' activities for children.  Wisely we arrived mid-morning because when we left early afternoon it was crowded and more were streaming in. Certainly was a good alternative to ark building while we waited for the rain to stop.
Unfortunately the South Dakota State University Dairy Bar was closed.  Neither Evy nor Sella were much interested in my story of watching the old one burn down in 1957.  Such an opportunity for them to gain some local history, so I just gave it a passing mention and moved on.  Culver's was an alternative but just not the same as the Dairy Bar.
A trip to the Volga, i.e., Brooking County Museum in Volga, was a reminder to visit standard museums before a 'touch me please' children's museum.  All's well as we emerged with everything still intact.  A mighty fine museum.
Family dinner tonight with 14 and a chance to celebrate Neil's birthday which is today.  One of the blessings of The Little House On The Prairie is the proximity too extended family.  Speaking of The Little House, we'd planned to visit the other one in DeSmet,  but the rain discouraged us.
So is life in the land of........

Takk for alt,

Al
