Unexpected

      A few years ago a friend commented re: travel. "It's the things that don't go according to plan that create the stories."  How true!

     Our last evening at Potaria we had the customary dinner, I counted 25 disparate dishes plus bread, bowls of olives and libations. The venue was about a twenty minute walk up the mountain. By the end of dinner it was dark. Our tour leaders, Anna, lingered behind to pay the bill.

    The plan was that after dinner we'd bus back down to Volos for ice cream and live music on the waterfront. Back at the hotel time passed as Anna didn't return. Finally she called the hotel reporting that she was lost. In the dark she'd taken a wrong turn. By the time she got to the hotel it was too late to go to Volos. Thereby hangs a tale.
