Successful farmers use quiet times to do maintenance on machinery so when it's time to be in the field less time is wasted on repair. Being neither a real farmer nor successful I thought "Why don't I do that?" An old wheel disc is missing an outside disc. Having both a spare disc and spare time today would be good day to do that repair. Three and a half miles before town, and my repair garage, a loud report told me a tire had blown out. Leaving the disc on a field approach I drove the tractor to town for tools to change the tire. With the tire repair tools in the truck I drove back to the disc. Jacking the disc up while the discs were suspended didn't work, so it was back to town for the tractor. Three and a half miles with a flat tire worked OK, so with the tools at the shop, and the disc connected hydraulically to the tractor, the tire was quickly removed....love that impact wrench. ECV had given me a spare tire a couple of years ago....Thanks Ed! 😀
Tomorrow I'll see if I can replace the missing disc. Today frustrating? Nope, just a bit of adventure when there's time and no pressure. Good exercise coupled with a feeling of accomplishment.
Takk for alt,
Al
