Eating Outside.

Last night the family asked if I wanted to eat outside, by which they meant, go out to eat.  It's the first time in three years they've ever asked that.  They are really stay at home people.  When I said "Yes" we went to the night market and had scrumptious Pad Thai.  It was so pleasant sitting outside, maybe 80 degrees, many people about as the sun was setting.  I tried to explain that at home in America people were not sitting outside.  They'd freeze at 60 degrees so there is not explaining sub-zero temperatures.
Last year Max told me if I ate Thai food all the time I wouldn't be so fat.  She may be right.  I'm about ready to cinch up my belt a notch.  It may help that I like Thai food but I do not like Thai sweets.  Some of it is texture but there are also combinations of flavors that do not appeal.  One of the teachers has a real sweet tooth and is always bringing sweets to lunch.  She's always disappointed that I don't like them.
At the immigration office today I added some days to my visa.  It is a great example of full employment via inefficiency.  I had to go to five different desks, fill out a sheet of questions, provide a photo, and at one desk a clerk recorded everything longhand in a log book.
