It's quite different than the night market in Bangkok which is aimed at tourists. In Bangkok it's all bargaining. No prices are marked. I say "How much? They say $1000 baht. I say 200 Baht" and I probably pay about 400 baht. The night market here in Ayutthaya sells to locals so there is almost no bargaining
The market is on the banks of Chao Praya river and it was very pleasant sitting outside as the sun set. It's the dry season so there are very few mosquitoes and the temperature was about 80 degrees. Many Thai were out for the evening, eating, shopping, visiting, watching the river.
