The Little House

Wow! Car thermometer registered 66 at one point on the journey from the OFH to The Little House. The pond across the street has thawed. Josh mowed my lawn and ground up the leaves, all of which come from neighbors because I have no deciduous trees. Likely we'll be here until Thanksgiving. Now it's time to settle in to some introvert living.

Near Buffalo Lake, on highway 212, traffic was routed unto gravel roads. Apparently there was a serious accident blocking the road. Traffic from the east was sent north. Cars approaching from the west were sent south. That was a smart move to avoid many cars meeting on narrow roads. Farther west, about a mile north of the Florita Store Marker,  a farm place was on fire. Will these be reported in the Mpls paper tomorrow?

Takk for alt,

Al

Inscription.
A general store was built about 1886 and was called Florita, being in Flora township. A post office was installed in the store with about 40 boxes. In 1898 the Flora Farmers Co-operative Creamery was started and did business until 1912. This monument is a tribute to the pioneers who settled and lived in this community.                                                                         Erected in 1994
