Rev. Richard Andersen 1/6/1946-6/2/2019

Did you notice the final e in Andersen?  That's a Danish spelling and Richard was proud of his Danish heritage.  We met him in 1988 shortly after we arrived back in Minnesota, he was our Lutheran Brotherhood agent. Soon we were friends. the three of us;  When Joanne was in Arizona for February she visited Richard in Carefree where he was Executive Director of The Spirit in the Desert retreat center.  Were she alive Joanne would certainly have grieved Richard's death and would have accompanied me to his memorial service held at Central Lutheran today.  His funeral service was held at Ascension Lutheran Church, Scottsdale, AZ., June 21.
It would take a boatload of adjectives to describe Richard; talented, creative, courageous, gifted, compassionate, adventurous, positive, enthusiastic, optimistic, kind, connected....and the large crowd at the memorial service today is witness to the lives he touched. Rest in peace, dear Richard.

The comfort of having a friend may be taken away, but not that of having had one.
Takk for alt,
Al
Seneca
