Journal entry by Al Negstad — a minute ago
It was my father's wry sense of humor when he called it "one of the little joys of life." It may well have been #11, for me. It's not the most pleasant experience in all, the preparation is much worse than the procedure itself. However, when it is life saving what's a few hours of discomfort? The appropriate response is gratitude. Recently I was discussing life with a 90+ year old who said "it's interesting that even when we're very old we still want more life." What could I do but agree? without throwing in the caveats about those whose circumstances are totally miserable. Today the doctor agreed that without them I may well have not made it this far. Grateful? Yes, indeed I am grateful.
Takk for alt,
Al
PS To all descendants of my parents, Albert and Edith Negstad; don't neglect colonoscopies, given our family history.
