What are working parents supposed to do? Mid-day a message comes “The school bus that brings your 5^th grader home from school is not running today.” Home is in south Minneapolis. During the legislative session Dad is at the capitol in St. Paul. Mom work for Minnesota Public Radio which is sited in downtown St. Paul. School is multi-miles from home.

    Today grandpa was one duty. First, was to pick up the 8^th grader, also whose bus didn’t run. With her in the car, and competently directing the driving, the fifth grader was also picked up and all made it safely home.

   But what if grandpa wasn’t available? Uffda.
